Welcome to Hannah Bergh's Personal Page!
Hello friends and family!
Junior year is halfway done and I am loving every second of it. I am majoring in Elementary Education and minoring in Middle Education with an emphasis in Mathamatics. Grand Forks and the University of North Dakota has become home for me. I have met some amazing people and have formed long lasting relationships since I came here two and a half years ago. I have grown as a person and softball has played a big part in my growth. I have some of the best teammates that push me to become a better athlete, student and a member of the community. Everyday, I see members of our team doing extra hitting, pitching and lifting. Seeing them push to get better is something truly amazing and makes me want to work harder. We have been a part of many community serivce opportunities in the Grand Forks area and have formed some amazing relationships with members of the community. Special Olympics, Salvation Army bell ringing, UND athleitcs Pen Pal letters are just a few of the things we participate in.
Our team has formed into a family this past semseter. As many of you know, our softball program was in jeorpardy of being eliminated from the athletic department. Hearing this news was heartbreaking and made many of us realize what softball really means to us. Thankfully, all sports teams were safe and there were no cuts in the athletic department so that just means we have a lot to prove this next season and our whole team is ecstatic to take on that challenge.
The UND softball season is approaching and my teammates and I can not be more excited! We will be kicking off our Spring 2017 season in the warm state of Louisiana. Florida, Alabama, South Carolina and California then to follow! The coaching staff and our entire team can't wait to experience the warm weather and some competative softball.
Because we are in North Dakota, we must travel pretty far to get on some dirt so, with that being said, there are a lot of expenses. We are looking to raise money to help with those traveling funds but also for equipment, secure scholarship money and to renovate our lockeroom. This money that we will be raising will help myself, all my teammates and all the girls that will be a part of this amazing university and organization in the future. Fighting Hawk softball is on the rise and I couldn't be happier and extremely thankful that I get to be a part of this amazing team.
